About The Position

Peregrine Advisors is a firm founded on a simple conviction: the best solutions come from the people closest to the problem, given real ownership and the tools to deliver. We are a data and technology innovation hub and a Benefit Corporation working at the center of the federal government's mission to deliver for client stakeholders and the US public, looking for highly motivated contributors who thrive when trusted to own a hard problem and equipped to deliver the solution. In your first assignment, you will own the technical design and delivery of a defined application or solution area. You will make the design decisions that connect its components, guide their implementation, and take responsibility for the quality of the integrated solution through production. The work may include: Leading feature work on an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud-native stack, with ownership of user stories from refinement through production. Directing the build of serverless, event-driven application workflows on Lambda and Step Functions. Owning how commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products integrate with the larger system frameworks built in-house. Designing and shipping the application programming interface (API) connections that modern system architectures rest on. Leading the data and document pipelines that automate manual, paper-heavy work. Adaptability and a demonstrated ability to learn new concepts, systems, and tools will keep you ahead of program needs as projects finish and priorities shift. The work is real and hard, and it matters. This first assignment is a starting point, not the shape of your career here. We hire people, not seats, and move our best to where the hardest problems are. Modern cloud-native systems that create exceptional business value through streamlined, automated operation. An integrated application or solution area whose components work together reliably, with tested code you help build and a consistent quality bar across the work. Automation that replaces the manual validations, checks, and workflows that once lived in somebody's spreadsheet. The delivery path itself, with pipelines and automated tests you build and maintain rather than merely use. Artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted development as the default way of working, with you setting the pattern for tools such as Amazon Q Developer. Developers who improve through working alongside you. And over time, the firm itself, through the new capabilities, tools, and lines of business you help launch.
