About The Position

Eurofins Professional Scientific Services is seeking an HPLC and Purification Associate Scientist to support a client team in synthetic molecule design and development. The role works with analytical chemists, organic chemists, pharmaceutical scientists, and engineers on products and process understanding across platforms including small molecules, peptides, and oligonucleotides. The position offers work across scientific disciplines using HPLC, purification, mass spectrometry technologies, and automated laboratory platforms in a research and development environment. The associate scientist performs routine HPLC and tandem mass spectrometry system verification, analytical testing, and purification according to established SOPs. The role also supports method development and high-throughput liquid handling and chromatographic process development. On-the-job training is available for purification using Cytiva Akta systems. This is a full-time, permanent position, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Candidates within commuting distance of Boston, Massachusetts, are encouraged to apply. Compensation is $31.00–$41.00 per hour, based on education and relevant industry experience.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field and 1–2 years of relevant industry experience; alternatively, a master’s degree in one of these fields or a related field and 0–1 years of relevant industry experience.
Experience with HPLC and LCMS systems.
Familiarity with Akta purification or FPLC systems.
Hands-on laboratory experience, including pipetting, liquid handling, sample preparation, and safe handling of biological and chemical materials.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, time management, and documentation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information and collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to interpret experimental data and troubleshoot technical challenges.
Ability to learn techniques quickly, manage multiple priorities, follow SOPs, and work effectively in a fast-paced research environment.
Self-motivation, inquisitiveness, willingness to learn, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Ability to document experiments thoughtfully, take notes, and create slides to communicate results.
Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Experience troubleshooting and maintaining analytical instrumentation.
Familiarity with analytical method characterization and performance attributes such as linearity, precision, and LOD/LOQ.
Background knowledge of purification using Cytiva Akta systems.

Responsibilities

Prepare mobile phases, install columns, and follow SOPs for standard weekly verification of Waters HPLC and tandem mass spectrometry systems for walk-up use.
Perform analytical methods, including HPLC purity and potency testing, following established SOPs.
Perform purification using Cytiva Akta systems and Unicorn software to generate material, following written SOPs.
Conduct laboratory activities with an emphasis on safety and technical rigor, adhering to local policies and procedures.
Support method development under the guidance of an experienced analytical scientist.
Support setup and operation of a Tecan Fluent high-throughput liquid handler to screen reaction conditions and develop high-throughput chromatographic processes.
