About The Position

Help drive inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction at Wesco Turf. The Purchasing Specialist plays a key role in supporting purchasing operations by managing inventory flow, vendor communication, and order accuracy across multiple product lines. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and is looking to grow within a stable, long-term organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Experience in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
  • Previous experience in purchasing, inventory management, or warehouse operations
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate Excel proficiency (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Prelude or similar inventory management systems (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Support the Principal Buyer with Toro purchasing, including stock, direct shipments, and shop service orders
  • Provide purchasing support for Allied vendors across 50+ product lines
  • Place daily purchase orders and manage buyer queues
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and clear communication
  • Monitor inventory levels, fill rates, and product availability
  • Review product status and manage inventory requirements daily
  • Reconcile daily receiving issues in coordination with Receiving, Accounting, and Customer Service
  • Communicate backorders, ETAs, and order status changes; update systems accordingly
  • Verify pricing and part number changes and communicate updates internally
  • Maintain inventory supplies (boxes, labels, bags, etc.)
  • Coordinate inventory movement between warehouses
  • Assist with vendor claims, 1RGA processing, and defective parts tracking
  • Review open purchase orders bi-weekly and assist with annual returns and obsolescence programs
  • Support purchasing email queues, documentation updates, SOP maintenance, and special projects
