About The Position

Arkansas Talent Group is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist for one of our clients in the industrial equipment and distribution industry. This position is a full-time, in-office opportunity located in Central Arkansas. Our client is a respected equipment and service organization that supports critical infrastructure and industrial operations across the region. They are seeking a hands-on Purchasing Specialist who can help ensure the right parts and equipment are sourced efficiently to keep operations running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone with experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory coordination, or supply chain operations within parts distribution, manufacturing, heavy equipment, industrial services, or related industries.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience preferred.
  • Experience within industrial distribution, manufacturing, heavy equipment, construction equipment, mechanical parts, or related industries strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing processes, vendor management, and inventory coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and urgent requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, purchasing software, Microsoft Excel, and other business systems.
  • Ability to analyze pricing, lead times, and purchasing data to support operational decisions.
  • Self-starter mentality with a hands-on, team-oriented approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred but not required based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase parts, equipment, materials, and supplies needed to support daily operations and customer service demands.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers while negotiating pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Create, track, and manage purchase orders to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
  • Work closely with inventory and operations teams to monitor stock levels, identify purchasing needs, and prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Evaluate pricing trends, vendor performance, and purchasing opportunities to help maximize efficiency and cost savings.
  • Proactively follow up on delayed shipments, backorders, and urgent parts requests to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing updates, vendor information, and procurement documentation within ERP and inventory systems.
  • Partner with service, warehouse, accounting, and operations teams to ensure purchasing activities align with company priorities and customer needs.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline purchasing workflows, improve vendor performance, and enhance procurement efficiency.
  • Ensure all purchased products meet company standards, specifications, and operational requirements.
