About The Position

Cambridgeport, a sister company of Cox Engineering, designs and builds custom HVAC and CRAH units. The Purchasing Manager leads purchasing and strategic sourcing for manufacturing operations, ensuring materials are available at the right cost and time while developing strong vendor and supplier relationships. The position is based on-site at the company’s manufacturing facility in Randolph, Massachusetts.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in purchasing management or supply-chain management, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent negotiation and leadership skills.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Proven experience in product sourcing and vendor or supplier management.
• Experience with inventory forecasting and management.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Epicor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing and negotiation strategies.
• Establish and maintain strategic sourcing procedures.
• Purchase equipment and raw or semi-finished materials to support production.
• Prepare, review, and process purchase orders.
• Monitor and forecast raw-material demand in coordination with production and engineering.
• Forecast pricing and track market trends.
• Evaluate existing and prospective vendors and suppliers, and manage ongoing supplier performance.
• Perform cost analysis and benchmarking.
• Lead budgeting, costing, and forecasting for purchasing initiatives.
• Identify and mitigate supply-chain risks.
