About The Position

Purchasing Manager oversees the purchasing process for the company, including purchase orders, inventory management, vendor relations, and coordination with internal teams. Purchasing Manager will direct and manage purchasing team members. This is a hybrid position and based in Itasca, IL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in business administration or equivalent experience strongly preferred
  • 5 years’ purchasing experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and Problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Team management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Controls and manages the purchase order process.
  • Overseas purchase of the following: inventory from parent company group, shipping materials, and general supplies for the company’s Headquarters.
  • Maintains and reviews records of items purchased, stock levels, costs, deliveries, and inventories.
  • Supervises and manages the purchasing team, including assigning duties, monitoring performance, and supporting the team’s efforts.
  • Meets with vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
  • Manages relationships with suppliers and negotiate with vendor product cost and purchasing terms.
  • Manages and monitors the inbound freight shipment process.
  • Evaluates and monitors contracts to ensure vendors comply with the contract terms and conditions and to determine any periodic need for changes.
  • Sets and maintains purchasing team policies and procedures, adhering to internal audit controls.
  • Coordinates with other internal departments to promote the collection of accounts receivable and other issues as needed.
