Job Summary The manufacturing Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the supply chain from raw material purchasing and production scheduling to inventory control and final delivery to customers This role is based in Stockton, CA

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a technical field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in supply chain, materials management, or a related executive/management role.
  • Experience with specific systems like MRP or SAP
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles
  • Perform complex tasks typically following established processes
  • Lead and direct the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions
  • Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures; may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning and procedural change
  • Typically require a bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all aspects of the supply chain from raw material purchasing and production scheduling to inventory control and final delivery to customers
  • Assisting with overseeing tasks related to production planning, materials purchasing, inventory control, price setting, vendor selection and distribution
  • Monitoring the movement of raw materials, in-process goods or completed merchandise to ensure that production needs or customer expectations are met
  • Collecting data and preparing analysis designed to forecast demand or predict inventory needs
  • Maintaining contact with vendors and submitting purchase orders or requisitions to ensure a continuous supply of goods
  • Developing and implementing supply chain strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase accuracy
  • Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing corrective measures as needed
  • Documenting the performance of supply chain staff and overall processes
  • Completing all necessary documents fully and accurately
  • Adhering to 5S standards (e.g., maintaining cleanliness of work area, etc.)
  • Following all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
  • Performing other duties as assigned
