About The Position

Convergint is looking for a full-time, results-driven, and forward-thinking Purchasing Lead to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and communicating activities of the Purchasing and Logistics groups with the Operations and Service departments for CTCs in the Midwest. Adheres to the ethical standards of purchasing. Provides work direction and training to Purchasing Agents. Maintains strong partnerships with all Colleagues, Customers and Vendors, meeting operation product needs on a timely basis and evaluate and recommend new products to enhance standards and increase profitability.   • 3 years purchasing experience

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred
  • Familiarity with Security, Fire and/or Banking fields
  • Construction Experience

Responsibilities

  • Managing, coordinating, and communicating activities of the Purchasing and Logistics groups with the Operations and Service departments for CTCs in the Midwest.
  • Adhering to the ethical standards of purchasing.
  • Providing work direction and training to Purchasing Agents.
  • Maintaining strong partnerships with all Colleagues, Customers and Vendors, meeting operation product needs on a timely basis.
  • Evaluating and recommending new products to enhance standards and increase profitability.
  • Implementing systems related to the flow of purchases from needs analysis to invoice payment.
  • Ensuring utilization of available inventory items or surplus material by Purchasing Agents.
  • Continued development of Inventory Management software and related systems.
  • Obtaining quotes and negotiating costs with vendors that meet margin goals.
  • Ensuring priority order requests are completed by Purchasing Agents.
  • Managing vendors to ensure price competitiveness, inventory levels, quality, on time delivery and key performance indicators are met.
  • Identifying and working to qualify new vendors.
  • Interfacing with all departments and resolving problems and issues, as necessary.
  • Establishing rapport with Colleagues, Customers and Vendors.
  • Providing purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Communicating professionally, persuasively, and personably with Vendors and Clients via phone and email.
  • Performing product research when necessary.
  • Supervising Purchasing Agents and assisting in order entry as needed.
  • Providing continuous training and support to Purchasing Agents.
  • Reconciling and processing purchasing and receiving documents for payment approval to A/P.
  • Performing other duties as requested or required.
