Magna Seating of America is seeking a data-driven Data Scientist / Data Analyst to modernize automotive purchasing by transforming legacy, manual processes into AI-enabled, scalable workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in data analytics or data science
• Strong passion for numbers and data-driven decision making
• Advanced Excel (modeling, pivots)
• SQL and/or Python (preferred)

Nice To Haves

• Data visualization tools (Power BI preferred)
• Automotive or manufacturing environment
• Purchasing or supplier analytics exposure
• Experience with cost models and raw material analysis

Responsibilities

• Analyze purchasing and supplier datasets to identify cost drivers and performance trends
• Develop insights to support sourcing and negotiation decisions
• Convert manual workflows into AI-enabled and automated solutions
• Build tools for quote comparison, cost tracking, and reporting automation
• Develop dashboards (Power BI or similar) to drive visibility and decision-making
• Partner with Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, and IT teams
