About The Position

The Purchasing Coordinator places orders for parts inventory, equipment, tools, supplies, and services. The role also assists with vendor negotiations and conducts analytical research into vendor usage, inventory turns, and other key metrics. The position is located in Hartland, Wisconsin, and works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The coordinator monitors inventory control processes across JX locations, including branch stock purchases, planning and parameter changes, excess inventory reduction and redistribution, reports, backorders, and open purchase orders. The role works with branches and vendors to resolve purchase order discrepancies, initiates vendor returns or inter-branch transfers for inventory with no movement, and collaborates with colleagues and leadership to improve purchasing practices and customer experiences.

Requirements

• A strong background in inventory theory, data extraction, and actionable analytics is required.
• Computer software proficiency is required.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Curiosity, continuous learning, integrity, adaptability, openness to investigating and implementing new ideas and processes, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Nice To Haves

• A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration is preferred; a combination of education and experience will also be considered.
• Three to five years of experience in parts distribution is preferred, ideally in heavy/medium-duty or automotive environments.
• Familiarity with Google applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inventory control processes, including branch stock purchases, planning and parameter changes, excess inventory reduction and redistribution, stock and nonstock reports, backorder reports, and open purchase order maintenance.
• Monitor and work to improve applicable inventory functionality KPIs.
• Process daily parts inventory orders for all locations in the JX network.
• Review open purchase orders and discrepancies, and work with branches and vendors to resolve them.
• Initiate vendor returns or inter-branch transfers for inventory with no movement.
• Work with key personnel to identify and develop technological or other solutions that simplify and improve the efficiency of JX purchasing practices.
• Assist in tracking and attaining vendor purchase incentive programs.
• Assist with new vendor selection, implementation, and consolidation.
• Collaborate with team members and leadership to cultivate positive customer experiences.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
