About The Position

The Purchasing Coordinator supports the smooth operation of an Encompass Health hospital by managing procurement processes for goods and services needed across hospital departments. The role receives and processes requisitions and purchase orders, maintains inventory levels, controls supplies and equipment, orders medical and clinical supplies, and oversees the hospital supplies purchase-order process. The coordinator may also negotiate prices and contracts with outside vendors as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to analyze situations, make informed decisions, and meet deadlines independently.
• Ideal candidates will have 2–3 years of hospital supply and purchasing management experience.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and accurately and efficiently process hospital and departmental requisitions and purchase orders.
• Maintain inventory levels in accordance with hospital procedures and control supplies and equipment for hospital departments.
• Negotiate prices and contracts with outside vendors as required.
• Order medical and clinical supplies for the hospital.
• Oversee the purchase order process for hospital supplies.
