About The Position

Dixon Ticonderoga Company is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join their team. Under the direction of the Procurement Manager, the Purchasing Assistant sources and purchases items/services for the Company at the best value while maintaining the correct levels of inventory of raw and/or finished products.

Requirements

Good working knowledge of the procurement process and general customer/supplier (internal and external) interfacing principles
Strong computer skills (Excel/Word -- SAP Procurement module is a plus)
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of Material Replenishment Planning system (SAP preferred)
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, be thorough and accurate
Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
Ability to understand and implement customer requirements
High School diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Responsibilities

Maintain and forecast inventory levels of assigned products lines and raw materials.
Work cooperatively as part of the procurement team and with functional areas, as required, ensuring timely delivery of goods to customers.
Notify suppliers of material requirements and coordinate deliveries to ensure manufacturing and customer service have adequate levels.
Utilize data to assist with supplier performance.
Prepare quotation requests.
PO/requisitions for parts, raw materials, supplies, and other goods.
Prepare purchase orders, maintain orderly reports including manual and electronic filing systems.
Assist Accounting with resolving price discrepancies and inventory errors.
Assist in creating internal work orders and handling the outsourcing mechanics with manufacturing as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
