About The Position
Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking for an experienced Purchasing Agent for their commercial hardware and construction supply client. This role is critical in ensuring materials are ordered accurately, delivered on time, and aligned with project requirements and company standards. The company is a materials supplier specializing in commercial doors, frames, and architectural hardware.
Requirements
- 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience (construction/building materials preferred)
- Familiarity with commercial door, frame, and hardware products is a strong plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in basic computer systems (ERP/software experience preferred)
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
Responsibilities
- Source and purchase commercial doors, frames, hardware, and related materials
- Maintain relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and distributors
- Compare pricing, negotiate terms, and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions
- Generate and track purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking as needed
- Collaborate with sales and project teams to meet customer and job requirements
- Resolve order discrepancies, backorders, and delivery issues
- Maintain organized records of purchases, pricing, and vendor communications
