About The Position

Optimum Window Manufacturing Corp is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to oversee procurement of glass, coatings, hardware, and other materials for custom production. The ideal candidate has purchasing experience in manufacturing or construction materials and excels at vendor management and cost tracking. This is a full-time, in-person position located in Ellenville, New York.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience; manufacturing or construction experience is preferred.
• Strong QuickBooks proficiency and cost-tracking skills.
• Knowledge of taxable versus non-taxable purchasing.
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to collaborate with engineering and production teams.
• High attention to detail, urgency in meeting deadlines, and accuracy in documentation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365; ERP experience is preferred.
• Purchasing experience in manufacturing or construction.

Responsibilities

• Create, code, and manage purchase orders in QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy, proper tax treatment, and internal coordination.
• Purchase, track, and verify materials in partnership with engineering and production teams to confirm specifications and order details.
• Manage vendor relationships by researching new suppliers, negotiating bulk or early-payment discounts, ensuring timely payments, and resolving shipment discrepancies with thorough documentation.
