About The Position
D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Agent for its Purchasing Department. The role sources, negotiates, and contracts house-line subcontracts for assigned lots and communities within the division. The Purchasing Agent evaluates price, quality, availability, and reliability when selecting materials and subcontractors, negotiates material prices, and secures reliable subcontractors through contracts. The salary range is $60,000–$70,000, based on experience. The position is bonus eligible.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Solicit multiple bids for every category needed to build homes in assigned communities.
- Evaluate subcontractors based on quality, schedule adherence, and pricing.
- Set up, compare, and monitor option costs and sales prices.
- Maintain and update current budgets.
- Spread revised bids and obtain approval for price increases.
- Prepare direct-cost analyses and variances for review.
- Input the original Direct Costs budget.
- Execute lot starts and final-proof all unit costs.
