Pump Engineering Co-op (Summer/Fall 2027)
About The Position
This is a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session that will run from June to December, including the Fall semester. Students are expected to take a semester off from coursework to fully engage in this working mentorship opportunity. The role provides Engineering support and ownership for the Fuel and Oil pump product line, supporting new development pump design efforts and production/fielded pump programs. Responsibilities include supporting lead design engineers in CFD analysis, leading Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts, providing customer support for Field Failure investigations, and resolving Supplier Requests for Information (SRIs).
Requirements
- Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
- Experience using analytical and developmental software such as MATLAB, CAD, NX, and/or AutoCAD
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint)
- U.S. citizenship is required

- Experience with mechanical hardware is preferred

Responsibilities
- Provide Engineering support and ownership for the Fuel and Oil pump product line in support of new development pump design efforts and production/fielded pump programs
- Support lead design engineers in performance of CFD analysis in support of new pump designs and field investigations
- Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts to identify causes and mitigation plans for issues affecting pump program productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction
- Provide customer support for Field Failure investigations
- Resolve Supplier Requests for Information (SRIs) by providing clarifications and processing Change Requests (CRs)
- Manage piece part supplier transitions
- Pursue cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability
- Consolidate and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project
- Support Quality investigations as necessary when piece-part issues affect product deliveries
- Verify internal processes are being executed to reduce probability of engineering turn backs
- Read and interpret drawings, provide mark ups, and coordinate drawing changes
