What You Will Do Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity). Are you looking to shape the future of commercial avionics? Collins Aerospace is seeking a Software Engineering Co-op for our Boeing Programs Displays team located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This organization is responsible for developing and supporting real-time embedded software for numerous processing platforms used in our commercial airline avionics products and cockpit display systems. Support the design, development, and maintenance of flight-critical embedded software for commercial aviation solutions and avionics products Contribute to assigned cross-functional engineering project team responsible for the design, development, and verification of real-time embedded software Support project team activities related to the specification of requirements, software implementation, test case development, verification test execution, and certification support Work with desktop computer in an office environment and with target hardware in an engineering lab to achieve the goal of delivering a high-quality software product within schedule and cost constraints What You Will Learn You will deepen your understanding of aircraft systems engineering, gaining insights into integration and development processes You will gain exposure to Avionics regulatory and certification requirements and processes You will expand your professional network, working alongside industry experts and global teams You will learn why people enjoy and feel fulfilled by working in our industry
Requirements
- Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
- Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
- Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Nice To Haves
- Must be willing to work 40 hours per week
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is required
- Demonstrated interest in embedded software solutions and board-level device drivers
- Programming experience in C, C++ and/or Python
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
Responsibilities
