About The Position

The Pump Assembler pulls parts as defined in customer work orders and assembles pumps using engineering drawings in accordance with established standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to achieve forklift driving certification
  • 2+ years of mechanical experience
  • Must be able to read and understand detailed work orders and translate that information into the pump assembly process, including basic math and measurement conversions
  • Able to work with hands using small hand tools, lifts, etc., for pump assembly process
  • Ability to manage multiple projects where priority changes based on customer demand is frequent
  • Capability of communicating easily with supervisor and peers in a team environment
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and up to 150 pounds with assistance

Responsibilities

  • Verifies that all parts are correct and available to assemble current job.
  • Lifts and carries materials and equipment throughout work areas using appropriate equipment.
  • Uses proper lift methods for using electric hoist.
  • Assembles assigned product parts in accordance with work orders, Bill of Materials, blueprints and engineering drawings, following production standards and guidelines.
  • Uses hydraulic press, air drills, hand wrenches, tape measures and calipers during assembly.
  • Performs spot checks of products to ensure adherence to approved quality standards.
  • Verifies measurements for accuracy and reports any problems or discrepancies to management.
  • Signs quality control inspection sheet for each completed job.
  • Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
  • Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
  • Maintains neat and orderly work areas at all times.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
