About The Position

The Department of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery at Temple Health seeks Academic Pulmonology/CC Physicians to join their unique multi-disciplinary center. This department focuses on the treatment of lung disease, integrating pulmonary and critical care medicine, allergy, thoracic surgery, lung transplant surgery, sleep medicine, diagnostic imaging, interventional thoracic radiology, pulmonary pathology, and clinical and scientific research. This collaborative environment fosters cutting-edge therapies and novel research, covering a wide spectrum of lung disorders. Temple Health is a major Philadelphia-based academic health system known for clinical innovation, pioneering research, and world-class education, driving medical advances and providing education to future physicians and scientists.

Requirements

  • M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent.
  • Board-eligible or board certified in pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine.
  • Possess academic credentials that will qualify for an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor.
  • Ability to obtain an unrestricted medical license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to employment.
  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Personal statement stating qualifications and professional goals.
  • Three professional references with names and contact information.
  • Statement describing working effectively in an urban environment is strongly encouraged.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in advanced interventions such as endobronchial ultrasound, navigational bronchoscopy, and bronchial thermoplasty.
  • Active participation in clinical trials in COPD, emphysema, asthma, lung cancer, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary fibrosis, sleep apnea, and other complex lung diseases.
