Hachette Nashville is seeking a Publishing Coordinator to offer editorial and administrative assistance to the Publisher of Hachette Nashville. Hachette Nashville is responsible for publishing prominent voices and resources within the Christian market, utilizing the Apiary and FaithWords imprints. This position is located in our Nashville, TN office. The role involves supporting the Publisher in the editorial management of franchise authors, new acquisitions, Bible publishing, and special initiatives. This includes tasks such as drafting P&L statements, setting up Title Management, and maintaining metadata. The coordinator will collaborate closely with authors and literary agents throughout the publishing lifecycle, covering manuscript development, payments, and sales information. Responsibilities also include drafting, editing, and maintaining descriptive metadata like cover briefs, fact sheets, and catalog copy. A key part of the role is reading, evaluating, and reporting on submitted manuscripts and proposals for the Apiary and FaithWords imprints. The Publishing Coordinator will also generate and run various reports from in-house systems, including publishing schedules, sales reports, competition grids, and fact sheets. They will assist the Publisher in gathering and organizing data for all publishing functions, such as acquisitions, budgeting, title performance tracking, and author sales reporting. The position guides projects through the post-subedit editorial stage, working with Managing Editorial, Production, and Marketing/PR teams. Additionally, the role involves organizing and distributing materials for internal Hachette Nashville publishing meetings (acquisitions, titling) and publishing cycle meetings (launch, sales conference). The Publishing Coordinator will attend and contribute to various meetings, including editorial board, acquisitions, titling, jacketing, and publishing cycle meetings. Administrative duties for the publisher include scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, and processing expense reports. The role also encompasses managing the Nashville office, handling incoming mail, liaising with vendors, ordering supplies, and organizing meeting logistics. Coordination of seasonal planning meetings (Launch, Strategy, Sales Conference) is also a responsibility, including managing timelines, materials, and follow-ups. Finally, the coordinator will draft correspondence on behalf of the Publisher to both internal and external parties.
