About The Position

The Energy & Earth Journals team is seeking a Journal Publisher to oversee a portfolio of journals in the earth sciences and take project oversight of select initiatives and team projects. This role is full-time and can be based in a key publishing office in the US or Europe, with support for hybrid working arrangements. Candidates will be considered for either an Associate or standard Publisher level role.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written communication).
  • Minimum education to bachelor's degree level.
  • Work experience of 2-3 years in a publishing role or in academic research is desirable.
  • The role level offered will depend on experience.

Nice To Haves

  • An educational background in a related field is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Pro-active, good negotiating and interpersonal skills; flexible and adaptable.
  • Able to work efficiently and productively with colleagues and customers at various levels, in various locations, and from diverse cultures, and be a role model for others.

Responsibilities

  • Journal development: balance maintaining the superior performance of a portfolio of titles with supporting goals around accelerated growth of quality content.
  • Editor appointments: carefully manage new editor appointments and ensure journals have editorial structures that are diverse and dynamic.
  • Community engagement: engage with customers through careful relationship-management and regular communication, and share customer insight with the team.
  • Brand visibility: improve the visibility of journal brands and company tools and services through effective outreach and competitive analysis.
  • Project management: champion select initiatives, follow up on actions and recommendations, and ensure team engagement and delivery.
  • Teamwork: work closely with colleagues to help deliver on collaborative projects and goals.
