Under the general supervision and direction of the Drainage Supervisor and Drainage Crew Leader, performs general maintenance and labor work pertaining to the operations and maintenance of irrigation, and flood control systems. STARTING SALARY: $18.00/Hour STATUS: Seasonal (non-benefitted, 6 months or less) DEPARTMENT: Public Utilities MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent education preferred. Must be at least 16 years of age by time of hire. Valid Utah Driver’s license preferred. Must attend a UDOT flagging training course and become certified when offered. Knowledge of tools and small equipment used in the operation, maintenance, and construction of irrigation or storm water systems helpful. Moderate responsibility for the care, condition, and use of materials, equipment, and tools. Good communication skills; ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Regular use of hand tools. Limited use of pickup trucks. Ability to prioritize tasks, establish effective working relationships with employees and the public. Able to perform basic operations with little or no supervision.
