About The Position

This is a temporary position where the individual will work at the Main Entrance, operate dispatch, and greet visitors. The role involves receiving and dispatching radio and phone traffic, monitoring alarms and cameras, and assisting campus visitors. The position requires adherence to an established schedule, ensuring field officers are informed, and logging all assignments. CPR/First Aid certification may be obtained, and the role may occasionally require lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

  • Communication and customer service skills
  • Proficient in phone etiquette
  • Multi-tasking skills under pressure while maintaining a professional and calm appearance and atmosphere
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Web-based applications
  • Speedy and accurate keyboarding skills
  • Must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Must agree with and affirm the Bob Jones University creed, mission, and core biblical doctrines
  • Expected to maintain a conservative lifestyle and support Bob Jones University’s positions on various issues
  • Must be an active member of a local Bible believing church which holds orthodox theology
  • Must be committed to providing students an excellent, world-class education from a biblical worldview

Responsibilities

  • Operate dispatch at the Main Entrance
  • Greet visitors to the campus, answer questions, and provide directions
  • Receive, dispatch, and log radio traffic on multiple radio frequencies
  • Receive, dispatch, and log emergency and non-emergency phone calls at the Main Entrance
  • Monitor fire and security alarms and cameras, dispatch, and log all alarms received
  • Follow established assignment schedule
  • Ensure field officers are informed
  • Log all assignments completed
  • May obtain CPR/First Aid certification
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
