About The Position

As a Communications Director, you'll serve as a senior advisor to clients, developing and executing communications programs that support business objectives, strengthen corporate reputation, and increase visibility among key stakeholders. Working closely with executive teams, you will lead media relations, thought leadership, executive communications, and social media initiatives across a diverse portfolio of clients. This role requires a strong understanding of how earned, owned, and social channels work together to influence perception, build credibility, and support growth. The ideal candidate has experience representing public and private companies, advising senior executives, and leading integrated communications programs. Experience developing executive and corporate social media strategies, particularly on LinkedIn and X, is essential. Candidates should be comfortable counseling leadership teams on communications surrounding company milestones, industry trends, market developments, and reputation management initiatives.

Requirements

  • Audience empathy as a primary driver of your communication strategy
  • 5-10 years’ experience working in Communications for publicly traded companies
  • Experience managing social media strategy and execution for corporate companies
  • Hands-on experience in strategic planning and campaign execution
  • Proficient in communications tracking software (Meltwater, Muckrack, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day strategic communications lead for a portfolio of client accounts
  • Develop and execute integrated communications strategies aligned with client business objectives
  • Counsel executives and leadership teams on media relations, thought leadership, corporate positioning, and reputation management
  • Lead media outreach efforts and maintain relationships with reporters, editors, producers, analysts, and industry influencers
  • Develop messaging, media materials, executive briefing documents, bylined articles, and other communications content
  • Build and execute executive visibility programs across earned media, speaking opportunities, LinkedIn, X, and owned channels
  • Lead executive and corporate social media strategy, content development, and channel management
  • Advise public company executives and leadership teams on social media best practices, stakeholder communications, and reputation management
  • Identify opportunities to elevate client visibility through media coverage, industry events, awards, speaking engagements, and social platforms
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging issues to inform communications strategy and identify opportunities for clients
  • Track, measure, and report on communications and social media performance
  • Manage multiple client accounts while ensuring high-quality execution and client service
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to department processes and best practices
  • Be a trusted partner, counsel, and teacher to clients on all things earned and owned
  • Leverage your creativity through compelling stories and engaging content
