About The Position

The Public Programs Coordinator supports The Museum of Flight’s mission by coordinating a diverse calendar of public events from conception through completion. The role helps develop and present a consistent, well-rounded portfolio of programming that engages diverse audiences, adds value to Museum membership, visitation, programs, and exhibits, and serves the Museum’s role as a cultural and educational resource through aviation and aerospace storytelling. Under the direction of the Public Programs Manager, the coordinator supports events such as lectures, presentations, panel discussions, forums and symposia, film series, book signings, fly-ins, and musical and dramatic performances. The position serves as a service-focused liaison before and during client experiences and maintains clear, ongoing communication with Museum departments and other stakeholders. This is a full-time, on-site position. The schedule is set by the manager and may include weekends, holidays, and evenings based on Museum event needs. On-site attendance is essential to most duties. Professional attire is occasionally required, and little to no travel is expected. The work includes office-based sedentary periods and repetitive wrist, arm, and finger movements, as well as occasional movement through Museum spaces, including outdoors in variable weather. The role requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, with or without assistance, and occasionally focus, bend, carry, reach, push, pull, walk, stand, twist, and squat. The Museum of Flight offers full-time employees medical, dental, and vision coverage; flexible spending accounts; a 403(b) retirement plan with a 5% match after one year of service; an Employee Assistance Program; company-paid life insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, and long-term disability; accrued sick leave and vacation; paid holidays; and floating holidays. The pay range is $22.15 to $30.00, depending on experience and other stated factors.
