This course examines political theories used for the analysis of public policies, including neo-pluralism and the influence of interest groups, neo-institutionalism, political economy, rational choice theory, post-positivism, and discourse theory. Specific public policies will be analyzed to illustrate the application of these different theories. The course will be offered online in a scheduled, synchronous format with live instruction. The University offers training in online course delivery. The teaching method may be modified due to public health measures or other reasons.
