Bestica is hiring for a Public Health Technician/Epidemiologist to provide their services at Wright Patterson Air Force Base located in Dayton, OH. The role involves providing subject matter expertise to the USAFSAM Department of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM/FE), Aerospace Medicine Studies and Analysis Division (FES), Aerospace Medicine Studies and Analysis Support Branch (FESS) Operational Consult team. This team is designed to offer a responsive and thorough approach to complex operational inquiries from the field, deliver operational expertise for active surveillance capabilities, maintain and enhance relevant data repositories, and support studies and analysis requirements, including technical consultation, data analytics, and data management. USAFSAM/FESS is responsible for the infrastructure and execution of studies and analysis projects, encompassing project management, tracking of funding and timelines, acquisition/contracting support, guidance on research/study experimental design, data analytics, operational issues, support for protocol submissions and approvals by IRBs and IACUCs, consultation on epidemiological practices and methods, and assistance with writing and editing manuscripts, reports, and research articles. This position requires expertise within the FESS branch to aid USAFSAM in providing consultation for studies and analyses projects, and to offer expert consultation and assistance to MAJCOM Aerospace Medicine teams and/or base-level safety officers, flight surgeons, and physiologists investigating physiologic events and other human factors issues.
