About The Position

Advent Services is seeking a Public Health Technician / Epidemiologist to support the USAFSAM Operational Consultation Support Team and the Studies and Analysis Portfolio at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. This role involves providing epidemiological expertise, conducting data analysis, and supporting scientific research and operational investigations. The position requires strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a military research environment.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Public Health or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in public health, community health, or an aerospace medicine clinic, with a strong background in epidemiology.
  • Minimum 5 years of epidemiology experience in a healthcare or military environment.
  • Experience designing, administering, and analyzing surveys and questionnaires for research or occupational health initiatives.
  • Experience designing, conducting, and leading data analyses involving health surveillance data, health records, military records, and operational health studies.
  • Ability to use or quickly learn analytical tools such as Envision, Tableau, Python, R, SAS Viya, and Qualtrics.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills, including preparation of scientific reports, publications, white papers, presentations, and literature reviews.
  • Ability to obtain required database access and manage sensitive research data.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to provide a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to the start of performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide epidemiological expertise in support of the USAFSAM Operational Consultation Support Team and the Studies and Analysis Portfolio.
  • Produce routine and ad hoc analytical reports while supporting scientific studies, research protocols, and operational investigations.
  • Design, conduct, and lead analyses of health surveillance data, medical records, and military operational data to support human performance and operational health initiatives.
  • Collect, manage, and analyze data from multiple authorized databases to support epidemiological research and operational studies.
  • Collaborate with USAFSAM researchers, MAJCOM personnel, and Air Force organizations to investigate operational health issues and develop evidence-based recommendations.
  • Support scientific conferences by preparing presentations, posters, and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Obtain and maintain required data access permissions for research activities.
  • Perform research support activities, including data collection, program analysis, monitoring, and preparation of technical reports and summaries.
  • Apply qualitative and quantitative analytical methods to evaluate program effectiveness and cost-benefit outcomes.
  • Draft and edit study protocols, research proposals, manuscripts, scientific abstracts, presentations, and technical reports.
  • Present study findings and support knowledge transfer through briefings, meetings, and collaboration with government, academic, and civilian organizations.
