About The Position

The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) is seeking an Epidemiologist to join the Disease Surveillance & Control Division. This grant-funded position involves conducting disease surveillance, evaluating public health data, and recommending disease control measures. The role functions within a multidisciplinary outbreak investigation and response team, providing crucial epidemiologic information to the medical community and the general public. The continuation of this position is dependent on the availability of grant funds and SNHD's business requirements. Employment may be terminated if funding is discontinued.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course study in epidemiology or public health
• One (1) year of professional experience in epidemiology, epidemiologic research, or public health disease investigation
• Valid Nevada Driver License, or ability to obtain, within ninety (90) days of employment

Nice To Haves

• SAS, R, or Python experience
• Knowledge of waste water surveillance
