Public Health Nursing Supervisor II- Women’s Health
About The Position
The Public Health Nursing Supervisor II for Maternal Child Health Programs (Family Planning, Maternal Health, Child Health) is a key member of the Personal Health Division’s Management staff. The PHN Supervisor provides supervision of Personal Health Staff working in the Maternal Health clinic/program, Child Health, Family Planning clinic/program, Health Promotion, and all health care activities related to prevention and control in women’s health, contraceptive health, maternal health and child health program areas. The Public Health Nursing Supervisor II works collaboratively within the team of three (3) Personal Health Division Public Health Nursing Supervisors and the Director of Nursing to ensure the goals of the agency and all programs are met.
Requirements
- Master’s in Nursing and three years of Public Health nursing experience (including one year of experience in a supervisory capacity); or graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and four years of Public Health nursing experience (including one year of experience in a supervisory capacity); or a Master’s in Public Health and graduation from a school of professional nursing and three years of Public Health Nursing experience (including one year of experience in a supervisory capacity); or graduation from a school of professional nursing and five years of professional nursing experience four of which must have been in Public Health (including one year of experience in a supervisory capacity); or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Provides supervision of Personal Health Staff working in the Maternal Health clinic/program, Child Health, Family Planning clinic/program, Health Promotion, and all health care activities related to prevention and control in women’s health, contraceptive health, maternal health and child health program areas.
- Works collaboratively within the team of three (3) Personal Health Division Public Health Nursing Supervisors and the Director of Nursing to ensure the goals of the agency and all programs are met.
