About The Position

This position is open to All Applicants. This position will be filled at either the 1, or 2 level, depending on the applicant's qualifications and job experience. Public Health Nurses (PHN’s) strengthen Alaska communities through preventive care, disease monitoring, and health improvement efforts. Depending on your experience, this flexibly staffed PHN 1/2 position allows you to start as a trainee as a PHN 1 or work independently as a PHN 2 under the guidance of a PHN 3. This position serves the Kodiak Public Health Center and delivers comprehensive services to the community. As a member of the Section of Public Health Nursing, you will contribute every day to the improvement of the health of Alaskans and their families. Requirements

A valid Driver's License is required at the time of appointment.
Alaska Registered Nurse License at time of appointment.
Current CPR Certification is also required.
Public Health Nurse 1: Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Alaska; AND Current acceptance and enrollment in a Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science (RN-to-BSN) bridge program from an accredited college or university.
Public Health Nurse 2: Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska; AND Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university or Direct Entry Master of Science (MSN) in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
Proof of Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap), Mumps, Measles, Rubella (MMR), and Varicella immunizations.
Proof of Hepatitis B (immunity or a signed declination statement).
Annual influenza vaccination or a signed declination statement.
Proof of Tuberculosis screening within the past 12 months.
A copy of your current driver’s license.
