About The Position
The Public Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of public areas, including bathrooms, floors, and furniture. This role involves a variety of cleaning tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing. The attendant will also be responsible for replenishing bathroom amenities, reporting maintenance needs, and contributing to a positive team environment. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent guest service and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid driver license.
- Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English.
- Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
- Ability to safely use cleaning products and safely operate cleaning equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction.
- Ability to learn the methods of cleaning and caring for buildings and equipment.
- Ability to work with timeliness and thoroughness.
- Ability to demonstrate excellence in everything, and continually seek improvement in results.
- Skill in the use of cleaning tools, chemicals, cleaners, and disinfectants.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Six months experience in hotel housekeeping is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Cleans and sanitizes public bathrooms including sinks, toilets, and floors.
- Moves furniture, hangs drapes, and rolls carpets.
- Sweeps, vacuums, scrubs, waxes, and polishes public area floors.
- Vacuums rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies in public areas and offices.
- Dusts furniture, washes walls, ceiling, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets.
- Replenishes bathroom amenities within public bathrooms.
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
- Fills out maintenance requests for any item(s) that need repair.
- Performs other duties as required.
