About The Position

The Public Area Attendant maintains the cleanliness and order of the hotel’s public areas, guest rooms, work areas, and premises. The role responds promptly to requests from guests and other departments, identifies and reports maintenance issues, and handles special requests. The attendant helps ensure guest areas are clean and presentable, communicates with room attendants to support efficient guest-room cleaning, and assists with other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• Hotel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Service hotel public areas to the required standard.
• Use a checklist and sign off on completed areas.
• Report maintenance issues.
• Respond to special requests.
• Replenish guest supplies.
• Assist with tasks assigned by supervisors as needed.
• Keep public areas neat, vacuumed, and dusted; ensure mirrors, furniture, floors, ashtrays, elevators, and doors are clean and mark-free; remove trash.
• Clean the lobby and employee breakroom.
• Deliver towels to the laundry for cleaning.
• Communicate with room attendants to support efficient and timely guest-room cleaning.
• Perform duties according to brand standards, with an emphasis on meeting or exceeding guest expectations.
• Perform other duties as requested by a supervisor.
• Respond to guest requests and inquiries in the lobby, answer guest questions, and direct guests to desired areas.
• Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.
