About The Position

This is a Part-Time Professor position for the uOttawa English Experience Program (ESL 160 S660) during the Spring-Summer 2026 semester. The course is an integrated four-skills (listening, reading, speaking, writing) class that uses a task-based teaching approach. The emphasis is on acquiring language skills and intercultural competence for real-world communication. Grammar, vocabulary, socio-pragmatic skills, IT resources, and learning strategies are highlighted in a student-centered and interactive environment with a focus on formative evaluation. The program runs from August 4 to August 21, 2026, with classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Instruction is exclusively on the University of Ottawa campus and requires in-person delivery.

Requirements

Master's degree in second language teaching, TESL or related discipline
Two years of experience teaching ESL at the college/university level
Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course
Experience with team-teaching
TESL Certification or equivalent
Ability to complete all mandatory legislated training
