About The Position

The CHEO Research Institute is seeking a full-time Psychometrist to join the Precision Child and Youth Mental Health (PCYMH) Collaboratory. This is an 18-month term position. The role offers an innovative opportunity to contribute meaningfully to clinical practice within a leading academic health sciences centre. The PCYMH Collaboratory is a unique research centre focused on co-designing innovative solutions that blend research, data, and technology to create tailored mental health care for every child and youth. The Psychometrist will work within a team of Neuropsychologists to conduct psychological assessments with children and youth presenting with complex mental health conditions in an Outpatient Mental Health setting. Duties will include administering and scoring standardized psychological and neuropsychological measures, writing behavioral observations, participating in team rounds, and potentially contributing to literature reviews and program evaluation working groups. The individual will join a team dedicated to co-designing new cognitive function-informed care pathways to improve outcomes in child and youth mental health.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology
  • Minimum 3 years psychometric assessment experience with children and youth with mental health conditions
  • Excellent test administration skills
  • Excellent observation, problem-solving, and documentation skills, including proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong ability to work well under the supervision of a registered neuropsychologist as well as work independently as needed
  • Knowledge of word processing computer software
  • Knowledge of database management and statistical computer software
  • Bilingual (English/French)
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Compliance with CHEO RI’s occupational health, immunization, and health‑surveillance requirements
  • Completion of a Police Record Check

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the preparation, administration, scoring, and reporting of psychological measures in accordance with standardized protocols.
  • Maintains database of electronic psychological measures and associated records.
  • Secures and enters additional information relevant to database maintenance, including clinical interview notes, medical chart information.
  • Documents consultation activities and maintains clinical records.
  • Liaises with clinical staff as necessary to share results of psychological measures.
  • Liaises with families, teachers, and community-based providers as part of the administration of psychological measures.
  • Ensures confidentiality, data security, and adherence to ethical and institutional standards.
  • Attends and participates in clinical rounds and other clinical activities as agreed upon.
  • Coordinates program evaluation records and databases, and assists with reporting needs as required.
