About The Position

The Psychology Clinic is a state-of-the-art training facility, with the ability to do live observation via two-way mirrors or via multiple monitors, digital recordings of meetings with clients, and even live supervision via bug in the ear systems. This is a part-time position funded by college course fees so that we have an appropriately licensed therapist oversee the clinic and supervise the clinical practices of our graduate students from across several programs. The department of psychology offers graduate training at the specialist level in Counseling Psychology and School Psychology. Portions of that training take place in our on-campus clinic, located on the third floor of the Education Building.

Requirements

  • An earned master’s degree awarded by a regionally/nationally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field of counseling psychology, school psychology, or another specialty area of mental health
  • Current licensure in Oklahoma as a mental health professional

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in managing a clinical setting
  • Experience working with clinicians in training
  • Experience in the evaluation and management of emergency mental health situations (e.g., suicidal ideation, suicidal intent, intent to harm others)
  • Experience in using evidence-based psychological practice

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with daily operations in the UCO Psychology Clinic providing coverage for student clinicians to see clients
  • Supervision of emergent clinical issues
  • Clinical supervision of cases for advanced graduate students
  • Managing daily operations in the Psychology Clinic
  • Supervising graduate students in emergent clinical matters
  • Communicating with program faculty in the Psychology Department
  • Participating in program evaluation sessions associated with accreditation, program approval, and continual improvement efforts
  • Evaluates student performance as needed
  • Maintains department and student records in accordance with university, department, and program policies
  • Adheres to the educational philosophy of the University
  • Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers
