About The Position

This course focuses on empirical research and preventive approaches in the psychology of postsecondary education. It examines the challenges and obstacles students face during the transition from high school to postsecondary education, exploring risk and protective factors. Key areas of study include academic success, perseverance, retention, and dropout rates.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Psychology
  • Advanced knowledge of the course content area (Psychology of Postsecondary Education)
  • Competence in second language: Passive
  • Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course Psychology of Postsecondary Education (PSY3174 Section A00) during the Winter 2027 semester.
  • Maintain the originally assigned mode of course delivery (in-person).
  • Inform the School of Psychology Secretariat promptly if a class needs to be canceled.
  • Arrange for a suitable replacement instructor in advance of any planned absence.
