About The Position

The Lifemark Physiotherapy Amherst clinic has been in operation in the downtown Amherst area for 25 years. The clinic is located just off Victoria Street which is the main road through the downtown area. It is located on the second floor the Lawton's building. Build a career while making a difference. As the designated service provider for Partner in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS), Lifemark Health Group is seeking Clinical Psychologists to join our interdisciplinary teams. In this role, you will deliver medical, psychological, psychosocial, and vocational rehabilitation services to eligible veterans. You will also have the opportunity to work with clients referred by third-party funders such as WCR, MVA and LTD.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited university.
  • Formal training in diagnostic / formal assessments (MMPI-3, PAI) is required.
  • Current registration in good standing with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (competency with adult populations is required; clinical designation required).
  • Individual professional liability insurance is required at the time of employment.
  • Conducting psychological assessments with adults for various goals, including treatment planning.
  • Providing various evidence-based treatments grounded in cognitive-behavioral approaches.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work both autonomously and as part of interdisciplinary teams.
  • Efficient with required clinical documentation.
  • Able to manage a diverse caseload within a dynamic work setting.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, integrity, reliability, maturity, and flexibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Counseling psychology, health/rehabilitation psychology, neuropsychology considered assets.
  • Working in interdisciplinary teams and with third-party payers is considered an asset.
  • Utilizing telehealth/virtual care methods is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver medical, psychological, psychosocial, and vocational rehabilitation services to eligible veterans.
  • Work with clients referred by third-party funders such as WCR, MVA and LTD.
  • Provide top-quality, client-centered care utilizing formal assessment and treatment expertise.
  • Conduct psychological assessments for diverse needs, including treatment planning and pre-employment screenings for high-risk occupations.
  • Leverage digital therapeutics in practice.
  • Work alongside a supportive team of Psychologists, Psychotherapists, OTs, PTs, and other allied health professionals.
  • Leverage novel approaches to the delivery of mental health services, including adjunct digital therapeutics.
  • Deliver individual and group treatment for a wide range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, trauma, depression, somatic complaints, substance misuse, adjustment, and interpersonal issues.
  • Consult with other mental health service team members and clinical interdisciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to in-house training sessions and interdisciplinary case discussions.
  • Contribute to program outcome evaluations at the provincial and national level.
