About The Position

Riverview Behavioral Health is a 62-bed inpatient hospital in Texarkana, Arkansas, treating people ages 12 and older with a primary mental health diagnosis. The facility provides a confidential, caring treatment environment, with care monitored in a safe setting 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The PRN Inpatient Psychiatrist provides diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through methods that may include psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and medication. The role serves adult and child and adolescent patients and provides clinical services at the facility.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO).
• Licensed in the state in which the facility operates.
• Board certification in psychiatry.
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and in accordance with regulations in the state where the practitioner will work.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of post-graduate-degree practice is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services to patients at the facility.
• Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations and by corporate and facility policies and procedures.
• Review patients’ medical information to confirm medical stability and provide medical recommendations.
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
• Treat patients or direct their treatment using a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
• Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, and document services and information in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidential documentation and ensure compliance and billing follow applicable policies and procedures.
