About The Position

Riverview Behavioral Health is seeking a PRN inpatient psychiatrist to join its patient-focused team in Texarkana, Arkansas. The 62-bed inpatient hospital treats patients ages 12 and older with a primary mental health diagnosis. The psychiatrist will see adult and child and adolescent patients.

The role involves diagnosing and treating mental illnesses through psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. The psychiatrist provides clinical services and practices according to applicable federal and state regulations and corporate and facility policies.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO).
• Licensed in the state where the facility operates.
• Board certification in psychiatry.
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and in accordance with applicable state regulations.

• One or more years of post-graduate practice experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services to patients at the facility.
• Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations and corporate or facility policies and procedures.
• Review patients’ medical information to ensure medical stability and offer medical recommendations.
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
• Treat patients, or direct their treatment, using a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
• Review and complete medical information for individual care plans and document services and information in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidential documentation and ensure compliance and billing according to policies and procedures.
