Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist - Inpatient
About The Position
Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry is seeking a full-time inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide specialized psychiatric care at its 130-bed acute care hospital in Columbus, Ohio. The hospital provides adult and senior inpatient programs, dual diagnosis programs, and intensive outpatient programs. The psychiatrist diagnoses and treats mental illnesses through psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, hospitalization, medication, and other appropriate approaches. The role provides clinical services to facility patients and follows applicable federal and state regulations and corporate and facility policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO).
- Licensed in the state where the facility operates.
- Board certification in Psychiatry.
- Board certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and in accordance with applicable state regulations.
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of postgraduate practice experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical services to patients at the facility.
- Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations and by corporate and facility policies and procedures.
- Review patient medical information to assess medical stability and offer medical recommendations.
- Evaluate patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
- Treat patients, or direct their treatment, using psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
- Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, and document services and information in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidential documentation and ensure compliance and billing in accordance with policies and procedures.
