About The Position
The Staff Psychiatrist is responsible for delivering mental health treatment to Tulane students. The individual in this role conducts psychiatric evaluations and provides clinical services. These may include medication management, crisis intervention, short-term individual therapy, group therapy and workshops, and outreach activities, along with collaborating with a multidisciplinary staff in maintaining a consistently high standard of care.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- Completion of a psychiatric residency program
- Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry
- Valid medical license in the state of Louisiana
- Experience in providing mental health treatment to young adults or college students
- Strong clinical skills in psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
Nice To Haves
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Experience in crisis intervention and management
- Familiarity with university mental health services
