About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist with experience in addiction medicine to join our team. The Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services, including psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, detoxification oversight, and ongoing treatment for individuals in a residential treatment setting. The provider will work closely with nursing staff, therapists, medical providers, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals with substance use and co-occurring psychiatric disorders.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Active and unrestricted Arizona medical license.
  • DEA registration and prescriptive authority in Arizona.
  • Strong clinical skills in psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Nice To Haves

  • Fellowship training or experience in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine preferred.
  • Experience treating patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and substance use disorder evaluations and assessments for patients.
  • Diagnose and treat substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.
  • Provide psychiatric oversight and medication management for detoxification and residential treatment patients.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment and recovery plans.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications and medications related to addiction treatment and recovery.
  • Provide supportive psychotherapy, patient education, and relapse prevention interventions as clinically appropriate.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, case conferences, and discharge planning discussions.
  • Maintain timely, detailed, and accurate patient documentation and medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing and clinical staff as needed.
  • Remain current on advancements in addiction medicine, psychiatry, and evidence-based behavioral health treatment practices through continuing education and professional development.
