Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited medical school required
- Completion of a Psychiatry residency program required
- Board eligible in Psychiatry required
- Unlimited license to practice medicine in the state of Tennessee required
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams across verbal, written, and virtual formats
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience working in collaborative healthcare environments
- Strong knowledge of psychopathology, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based psychiatric treatment
- Ability to complete clinical documentation in accordance with organizational standards
- Commitment to maintaining licensure and continuing medical education requirements
- Ability to respond effectively to emergent situations and manage patient care independently and collaboratively
Nice To Haves
- 0–3 years of psychiatric clinical experience preferred
- Board certification in a psychiatric specialty preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management for diverse patient populations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to develop and implement effective, individualized treatment plans
- Provide clinical leadership and consultation, supporting team members in diagnosis, case formulation, and treatment strategies
- Supervise and maintain collaborative practice agreements with nurse practitioners and physician assistants
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and ongoing care to promote active participation in recovery
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and ensure continuity of care using evidence-based practices
- Participate in treatment team meetings, clinical supervision, and quality improvement initiatives
- Respond to on-call responsibilities for emergency psychiatric care (with additional compensation)
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation within the electronic medical record system
- Support efficient practice operations, including productivity goals, billing accuracy, and compliance with policies and procedures
