About The Position

JFK-ADATC is seeking a Staff Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals receiving acute stabilization and residential treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. The psychiatrist will provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team. This position also provides clinical guidance and supervision to advanced practice providers, consultation on complex psychiatric and medical presentations, and support for clinical quality and program improvement initiatives. The Staff Psychiatrist will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a specialized treatment setting serving individuals with complex behavioral health and substance use needs.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice medicine in the State of North Carolina.
  • Experience providing psychiatric treatment to individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, including assessment, diagnosis, and psychopharmacologic management.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for the treatment of substance use disorders, including medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) and management of psychiatric conditions during withdrawal, stabilization, and early recovery.
  • Experience working within an interdisciplinary treatment team, including collaboration with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, psychology, social work, counseling, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision, consultation, or education to advanced practice providers and other clinical staff, including chart review, case consultation, development of clinical protocols, or staff education.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage patients with complex psychiatric, medical, and substance use treatment needs in an inpatient, residential, acute behavioral health, or similarly structured treatment setting.
