About The Position

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a newly opened (July, 2018) 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services. In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the new facility will also offer services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit.

Requirements

Medical Doctor and licensed in PA.

Responsibilities

Attends and leads rounds and treatment team meetings.
As available, reviews the results of prior examinations and psychiatric evaluations, tests, and treatment.
Interviews and evaluates persons assigned to their care by conducting psychiatric assessments and as needed, physical examinations and recording results.
Order tests as needed.
Makes of confirms diagnosis of an individual’s treatment needs.
Discusses findings of examinations and tests with the individual, his or her family, and treatment team members.
Prescribes psychiatric treatment, medications, and other treatments to address psychiatric and other medical and behavioral problems; formulates a multidisciplinary program for the individual; and examines different approaches to improve the overall health and well-being of the individual.
Assesses individuals for admission.
