Requirements

  • Must hold a valid state license as a Psychiatrist.
  • One to two years of experience in direct-care delivery of treatment or clinical services.
  • Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of staff and residents in a participatory management environment.
  • Must meet state criminal background check requirements and maintain employment eligibility status.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in residential DJJ programs, offender treatment programs, group work modalities, child welfare, and substance abuse treatment is highly desirable.
  • PAR certification preferred.
  • Must be free of communicable diseases as required by the state.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and clinical supervision for psychiatric services.
  • Conduct clinical diagnostic evaluations, treatment team consultations, and medical prescription management.
  • Supervise the psychiatric nurse practitioner while providing clinical guidance to the medical team.
  • Direct the development and implementation of psychiatric protocols, including seclusion policies and administration of PRN medication.
  • Serve as the Designated Mental Health Authority for the facility, as required by contract or state/local regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing clinical in-service training and development activities.
  • Maintain a high standard of role model behavior for youth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
