About The Position

The Psychiatrist will direct medical treatment to members served within the scope of their licensure. They will participate in the leadership of the program by communicating with Program staff and members served, and by ensuring superior quality medical practices that meet and exceed licensure requirements, payer standards, and client and community needs. This is a part-time position, up to 12 hours per week, with flexible scheduling on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 9 am to 1 pm. Alameda County Youth CSU is a Crisis Stabilization Unit serving youth populations within Alameda County, providing screening/triage, medication support, and brief treatment in a safe, protective setting. The typical length of stay is up to 24 hours.

Requirements

  • A medical degree from a medical school accredited by the American Medical Association or the American Osteopathic Association.
  • Successful completion of residency training program in psychiatry.
  • Active DEA in good standing.
  • Experience with youth/adolescents ages 12-17.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with JB-220 paperwork.
