About The Position
VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS), an industry leader in Correctional Healthcare, is seeking a Full-Time Psychiatrist to join their team at Lansing Correctional Facility in Lansing, Kansas. Requirements
- Must be a graduate of medical school and have completed an appropriate psychiatric residency.
- Must be licensed to practice in the state of Kansas.
- Must possess a current DEA number.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of inmates referred by medical and clinical services staff.
- Provide written summaries of history, diagnosis, and treatment course.
- Provide psychiatric services for inpatients, including assessment, diagnosis, staffing, treatment planning, and regular review.
- Provide psychiatric services for general population inmates referred to the Healthcare Unit needing regular psychiatric/behavioral health follow-up.
- Provide psychiatric services for inmates needing transfer to Behavioral Health facilities, including work-up and court testimony.
- Act as the regular Psychiatrist for the Behavioral Health Unit (if applicable), participating in treatment programming and planning, regular staffing, medication monitoring, and providing general psychiatric input.
- Provide medication management to all admitted inmates.
- Provide individual and/or group therapy as appropriate.
- Approve, sign, and monitor the implementation and efficiency of treatment plans.
- Approve all admissions and discharges into the Behavioral Health Unit (if applicable).
- Provide in-service education to site staff as needed.
- Attend training and meetings as required.
