About The Position

Brook Lane Hospital in Hagerstown, Maryland, is hiring a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist for its inpatient program. The position is 100% inpatient, with no clinic responsibilities, and includes a manageable caseload of approximately 16 patients. The 38-bed program serves patients ages 8–17, with an average census of approximately 32 and an average length of stay of 8–10 days. Common diagnoses include ADHD, depressive disorders, trauma, autism spectrum disorders, ODD, and adolescent substance use. Admissions primarily come from regional emergency departments. The psychiatrist works with a multidisciplinary behavioral health team that includes nurses, mental health associates, social workers, counselors, psychologists, a discharge planning team, and medical consult services. Staff are trained in CPI de-escalation and safety protocols, with security support and systems intended to maintain a safe care environment. The role also offers teaching opportunities with psychiatry residents, medical students, and NP and PA programs. The schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off, with 10-hour days. Call includes one night per week, one in six weekends, and daytime on-call coverage for emergency department referral screenings and urgent inpatient needs. Compensation is a $335,000 base salary, a $250,000 sign-on bonus, and up to $50,000 in relocation assistance. Benefits include CME, malpractice coverage, retirement, PTO, and health coverage. Responsibilities

Provide inpatient psychiatric care to child and adolescent patients ages 8–17.
Manage an approximate caseload of 16 patients in a 100% inpatient role.
Provide daytime on-call coverage for emergency department referral screenings and urgent inpatient needs.
Participate in the call schedule, including one night per week and one in six weekends.

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary behavioral health team.
